Gaia dances in the moonlit glade at the edge of the forest. Her dance and call is so powerful it causes a disturbance or shock wave in the atmosphere.
A raven croaked from a high branch, an owl hooted softly in the distance. The very ground beneath her feet warmed, pulsing with the heartbeat of the world. She could feel it, the pain of the forests felled, the rivers choked with poison, the creatures displaced. But there was also hope. If magic could heal, so could love, so could care for what had been lost.
As the final steps of the dance wove through the night, Gaia turned to face herself, as if looking into a reflection not bound by glass. Her silver eyes, vast as the sky, held both sorrow and strength. She placed a hand over her heart, and in that moment, she understood.
