Equilibrium - Copper and Bronze Effect Sculpture

Equilibrium means balance. Things are always in a state of flux in life. They are never actually still. To be not moving is to not be alive. Yet we get stressed when things go too far one way or the other. The sculpture is my version of a Centaur with the body of a horse and the torso and head of a human. I have added lots of hair around the hooves, a big and swishy tail and horses ears to the human head.

The sculpture is finished in a copper effect with blue-green tinges to mimic the slight oxidation of copper. I love how colours appear when things are chemically changed. Like an autumn tree leaf gives us wonderful colours.

This sculpture has a magical twist...when you turn out the lights, he could be a patronus!

I make all my art from found objects and things that would have ended up in landfill...and I turn them into wonderful art. I am the artist with the magical paintbrush!
