How to Reconnect to Nature - Cream or Jam First?

How to Reconnect to Nature - Cream or Jam First?

Back to the Studio after Devon and Cornwall!
Hubby and I are now back from our annual holiday. We took Ned the Camper Van down to Devon for three nights at Woolacombe (North Morte Farm) and then on to Trebyla Farm near to Boscastle.

I have never camped before. Let alone had a van that transforms from a van in the day to a bedroom at night. I think that is the magic for me. It feels like my own portable wendy house or tree house that I always wanted as a child but never had. I love how it can get you to some wonderfully wild and tranquil places and then shapeshift into a mini hotel room as soon as you need it. Like a real life Room of Requirement!

I enjoyed both sites for different reasons but I would say Boscastle was my favourite. I really felt like I was out in the countryside. The views at both sites were amazing.

We learned some important camping lessons:

1. Always get the van as level as you can as sleeping on a slope is hard work!
2. Remember to take your towels to the shower room!
3. Start cooking before the sun goes down!

I am now back to work in the studio and working on my new Transcend collection for free A5 prints. These prints are designed to enable my work to be more accesible to more people and I am no doubt going to get jolly stressed when I do my first ever Facebook ad with this collection. There are four prints in this collection which are not my fine art giclee gallery quality, but they will still last forever and look great framed. I will tell you more when I get closer to launching.

But the key question is....

Do you spread cream, or jam on a scone first?

Let me know your thoughts.
My time in Devon and Cornwall, visiting places such as The Museum of Witchcraft and Magic and Boscastle harbour itself was magical and I have got sooo much inspiration for new art that I cannot wait to start.

New Collection Ideas
"Thalassophilia" (What is a thalassophile? A person who loves and is magnetically attracted to the ocean and the sea. Many people say they enjoy spending time at the beach, especially during summertime. While that might be a normal thing to do, there's also a particular niche of individuals who need to be near the ocean all the time).

"Pyromancy" (Pyromancy (Ancient Greek ἐμπυρία (empueria), divination by fire) is the art of divination by means of fire or flames. A candle's flame. The word pyromancy is adapted from the Greek word pyromanteia, from pyr (πῦρ, fire) and manteia (μαντεία, divination by means of).

There will earth and air related collections too. I am going to be so busy!

I have seen starry skies like never before where the lack of light pollution helps you to see so many more stars. I have seen crashing waves at Tintagel castle and gently lapping ones that I paddled in at Rockham beech (quite a scary climb down it may be go all wobbly!). I saw amazing sunsets as good as any Caribbean island. I have been enveloped in sudden Devon mist that literally rolled over us and made us wet. It was walking through a cloud. We had some amazingly hot days just sat outside the camper drinking beer and eating local beef burgers from the farm shop.

I feel like I have reconnected with nature again.

Curiously Creative
